Jesse (TWH)
Time in Training: 7 weeks
Monday, June 5, 2006
Jesse has continued improving with every ride. He has been leading the trails at Long C and doing great.
He is now used as one of our "assistant" horses. Our "assistant" horses are used when we ride new colts on their first
few times on the road or on the trails. An "assistant" horse helps give confidence to the new colts. Jesse will
be returning home shortly.

Time in Training: 2 weeks
Tuesday, May 2, 2006
Jesse came to us semi-broke. The owners has started him under saddle but everytime they tried to get off
their property he would buck and rear and throw his rider. We decided to start him as if he'd never been ridden before.
We then took him down the road where he acted as if we was going to buck but never did. He was a little spooked by various
objects the first few times out but he is now a perfect angel. He has ridden more than 60 miles since he's been here.
Being that he has not shown the same resistance towards leaving our property as he did with the owners we are going to take
him back to his owners and ride him there and see if the problem occurs.

Tat (Appaloosa)
Time in Training: 7 weeks
Monday, June 5, 2006
Tat has made vast improvements in the past few weeks. After a closer look at his teeth we believe him to
be 8 or 9 instead of 5. We took Tat to Long C last week for his first ride on the trails. He had a hard time with the
water and with some time and encouragement he found out that water was not an enemy. After following Jesse through
the water he found out he actually liked it! Tat has now become a completely different horse. We are now riding
him all over the trails at Long C where he not only will follow but will lead with no problems. Tat will be going home
tomorrow.

Time in Training: 2 weeks
Tuesday, May 2, 2006
Tat is a 5 year old that was never started under saddle. When we first started with him he was a bucking
machine! We were just working with him on groundwork and he wanted to show us what he had in store for us. Amazingly,
with just a little work with him on trusting us, he has come around full circle. We started him under saddle and worked
on mounting and dismounting without him moving.

Brother (TWH)
Time in Training: 4 weeks
Monday, June 5, 2006
Brother is a 2 year old TWH stud out of the well known World Grand Champion "Armed and Dangerous". He is
being trained to be a well-controlled stud. Next year he will be studded out and his owner wants to have a respectful
stud. He is currently being ridden flat shod. We started him under saddle and what a mover he is! He had
his first ride at Long C this past weekend and will continue his training on our property, on road rides and at Long C.

Honey's Little Josh (QH)
Time in Training: 3 weeks
Monday, June 5, 2006
Josh has been such a sweetheart. He has been willing to learn since the first day. When we first
started with Josh he was very stiff and would not bend around corners. With bending exercises he has improved greatly.
We are now working on neck reining and leg-yeilding.

Shooting Star (QH)
Time in Training: 4 weeks
Monday, June 5, 2006
Star is in training for pulling as well as riding. We decided to start him on pulling before we work him
under saddle. We started working him with driving lines then we first focused on letting him get used to the
feeling of the harness. He was a bit touchy on his sides so we worked on getting him used to various objects touching
him. He now stands perfectly still for all the equipment to be put on and adjusted. We have been working on steering
and stopping and after a couple of run-off attempts he now steers quiet well. We have saddled him and have mounted and dismounted
while standing still.

Magic came to us as a stud and has since been gelded. He is 2 years old. He is being broke to ride
as a lesson horse. We started him under saddle and have had no problems from him. We are currrently
working on upward and downward transitions. We are also working with him over ground poles and bending around barrels.

Completed Training
Kimmy (Mustang)
Time in Training: 3 weeks
Tuesday, May 2, 2006:
Kimmy has made a lot of progress in the past few weeks. She is no longer bucking and is really learning
how to balance herself. After many bending exercises she is finally bending around turns in a nice balanced form.
She now has a very nice headset. We worked on figure eights at the trot and she is learning how to leg-yeild.
Sonny (TWH)
Time in training: 3 weeks
Tuesday, May 2, 2006:
Sonny was brought to us by a woman who rescues horses. He was skin and bone when she got him
and has nursed him back to health. Sonny came to us halter broke. We started him under saddle where he was very scared
of everything and would jump at the smallest of objects. Sonny now has been ridden on at least 50 miles of trails and
roads. He has been through water, seen buggies, cars, trucks, cows, chickens, dogs etc. He now has no problem
with them. We are currently continuing his training on 7 mile and 10 mile road rides through the Mennonite community.
CoCo (TWH)
Time in training: Less than a week
Tuesday, May 2, 2006
When Coco came to us the owners just got her and didn't know a thing about her so we decided to start from the
beginning. The first day we noticed she could be a little pushy and would walk right over you if you weren't paying
attention. We first worked with her on "staying out of our space". We would walk a few steps and say "whoa".
We did this over and over again until she learned that she couldn't walk on top of us. We then worked her in the
roundpen. After saddling her and mounting her we could tell she had been ridden before. After seeing that
her tail was cut (something done in show barns for show horses) we were pretty positive she was ridden before.
For her first day she did very well. Her owner is currently taking riding lessons by Debbie and hopes she can switch
from Pearl (one of our personal horses) to Coco very soon.
Fancy (TWH, SSH)
Time in Training: 1 week
Tuesday, May 2, 2006
Fancy has come a long way in just 1 week. She came to us started under saddle but very green. We
noticed from the start that she wasn't bridle-wise. We have been working on bending her and helping her understand what
the bit is for. She has been ridden twice on the 7 mile loop and is progressing nicely.
